FAR-FLUNG MOVES is a dance and movement company that centers training and intensives, choreography and performance, and community work to build a tight-knit, strong, flourishing community of artists in the Midwest and beyond.
Created by dance artists Shannon Nulf and Gillian Ebersole, Far-Flung Moves envisions abundance. Abundance of movement, abundance of learning, abundance of exploration. Through the modalities of dance, Pilates, and yoga, FAR-FLUNG MOVES realizes a dream of connecting movement with community.
Whether hosting dance training and incubation residencies, leading grounding and restorative retreats, or creating collaborative choreographic work with other movement artists, FAR-FLUNG MOVES is committed to leading with warmth, equity, kindness, encouragement, and camaraderie.

ABOUT S&G
Shannon Nulf (she/her) is a movement artist whose work reflects her commitment to human connection. She graduated with Highest Honors from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Dance and minors in Movement Science and Performing Arts Management. At U-M, she worked with artists such as Urban Bush Women, Rosie Herrera, Joel Valentin-Martinez, Charli Brissey, Fabiola Torralba, Sydney Schiff, Kelly Hirina, Jen Peters, and Melissa Brading. Since graduating, Shannon has grown her love of choreography, performance, and teaching through professional work across New England and the Midwest. Shannon is an RYT-200 (working toward a 500-hr certification) and is also a certified Mat Pilates instructor. She currently works as a freelance artist and administrator supporting small arts organizations, teaching across a variety of studios, and creating and performing new work. shannonnulf.com
Gillian Ebersole (they/them) is a dancer and choreographer, as well as a poet, dance writer, and researcher. Gillian graduated Summa Cum Laude from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles with a dual degree in Dance and English. Performed on stages in Los Angeles, Denver, and Paris, as well as across Massachusetts, their choreographic work merges a love for language and for movement. Gillian trained with Denver contemporary dance company Wonderbound, Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company, Whyteberg, Gibney, and Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company. Gillian is an RYT-200 and Mat Pilates Instructor and is working toward their 500-hour RYT certification. Currently, Gillian is a Teaching Assistant and MFA Student in Dance at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. gillianebersole.com
After meeting while working for Jacob’s Pillow, Shannon and Gillian entered a creative and life partnership that has led them across stages and across the country. They performed and presented work at multiple venues in Western Massachusetts, including Jacob’s Pillow, The Foundry, The Mount, and Chesterwood. In Massachusetts, they taught at organizations including Bard College at Simon’s Rock, Berkshire Pulse, Community Access to the Arts (CATA), the Funk Box Studio, Jacob’s Pillow, and 33 Hawley. Since making a move to the Midwest, they have worked as guest artists-in-residence at Superior School of Dance in Michigan. They are currently based in Illinois.
Together, Shannon and Gillian bring their shared expertise and love of learning to every class they teach, project they plan, and dream they imagine.
